Installing CuteNews Manually

CuteNews is a lightweight content management system (CMS) that stores data in flat files instead of a database. This makes it simple to install and manage, especially for small websites or blogs. CuteNews requires manual installation on your hosting account.

Steps to Install CuteNews (Manual)

1. Download CuteNews.

   • Visit the official site: cutephp.com.

   • Download the latest installation .zip file.

2. Extract Files.

   • Unzip the downloaded package on your local computer.

   • You’ll see a folder containing the CuteNews files.

3. Upload Files to Your Hosting Account.

   • Use FTP or File Manager in cPanel to upload the contents of the extracted folder.

   • Place them in the public_html directory if you want CuteNews at the root (e.g., example.com).

   • Alternatively, upload to a subdirectory (e.g., example.com/cutenews).

4. Set File Permissions.

   • Connect via SSH or use File Manager.

   • Run the following commands to set correct permissions:

     find . -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;
     find . -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
     

      

5. Run the Installer.

   • In your browser, go to the installation URL:

     • If installed in root → http://example.com/index.php

     • If installed in a subdirectory → http://example.com/cutenews/index.php

   • The CuteNews installation page will appear.

6. Configure Admin Account.

   • Enter a Username for the administrator.

   • Enter an Email Address.

   • Enter and confirm a Password.

   • Click Create Admin Account.

7. Finalize Installation.

   • Click Start working with CuteNews.

   • The CuteNews dashboard will appear.

   • You can now begin configuring your site and publishing content.
